Congratulations and gratitude to Dr. D’Anne Rudden, Longmont Hearing & Tinnitus Center for her dedication and efforts lobbying before congress to remove unnecessary barriers currently being imposed by restrictions in Medicare coverage for audiologists. Advocacy for the Medicare Audiologist Access and Services Act (H.R. 4056/S.2446) will provide better access to Medicare beneficiaries and will enable them to provide direct access and streamlined coverage for diagnostic and treatment services by audiologists. http://chooseaudiology.org/about-maasa.
Dr. Rudden’s passion and life’s work is to serve people with hearing loss and helping them reconnect to sounds of life. Her selfless service has provided hope in communities in underserved countries such as India, Guyana, Costa Rica, Peru and St. Lucia. These outreaches have given her the opportunity to touch lives by providing the gift of hearing to many who suffer from disconnection due to hearing loss from their families, communities and give the gift of a richer life experience otherwise not available to them. Imagine contributing to the time and being present when a child hears a mother’s or their own voice for the first time and seeing the joy on the child’s face by the first time they experience the joys of sound in their lives.
